The though has occurred to me , One problem is it is so intermittent . It can go for long steaches of being fine , other wise I might have bopped bake to the Apple store and said "what gives"?
Late last month we had a brief power outage , and the thing is plugged straight into a wall socket . It may be coincidence ,but it was later that night that it first started acting up .

So I assume you have the Apple Airport Express? That power surge may well be the answer to your question. Leaving out evidence huh?! Damn hippies.

Are you still in the warranty window on the Airport unit? If so, you could always pop back to the Apple store and tell the, it's acting flaky, but don't elaborate... :)

Intermittent dropoffs point more toward the router than anything... but...

One more thing you can try though:
On your Mac go to -> Applications/Utilities
Run "Disk Utility"
Once it's running, select your Hard Drive in the left column
Make sure you are on the "First Aid" tab and choose "Repair Disk Permissions" on the bottom - this make take a little while to run, let it go.

This should be done once in a while anyway, especially after any OS related updates. The process will only run on Apple software and is very safe to do and helps eliminate "weird little problems". It's worth a shot before you replace the router.
